JEVA was born in 2020 as an organization of Venezuelan womxn dedicated to film creation in all its areas, who from different parts of the world wanted to establish a space to meet and offer support to other fellow femmes in the development of their careers.
We are a space for meeting, participation and empowerment, where femme filmmakers can go to materialize their projects and consolidate their careers, contributing to the reduction of inequalities in the professional field, which aims at the visibility, connection and sustainability of its associates.
Launch the first public & professional database of Venezuelan filmmakers worldwide.
Create a reliable job list, with opportunities in Venezuela and abroad for our members.
Offer a program of paid internships and more intensive training spaces for different career levels.
Launch a development lab for up and coming writers, directors, and producers with the support of professional mentors from all over the world.
JEVA has its genesis in the many conversations between Marianela Illas, Claudia Lepage, Karin Valecillos, Mariana Rondón, Emiliana Ammirata and Katiuska Castillo, where they each identified, conversed and exposed their own difficulties in their professional path, while at the same time, attempted to find solutions.
After multiple gatherings between the six founders, it was clear that this type of support was non-existent, and very much needed for many other womxn, which gave way to JEVA as a formal proposal, collective and initiative.
At JEVA we have the support of our founders, associates and freelancers who continually contribute to the growth of the organization.
